FREE PATTERN REVIEW : FISHSTICKS DESIGNS - THE TANK

I had downloaded this pattern long ago but just got around to sewing it . I am trying to clear my sewing room of all tiny scrap pieces, hence the three colour combo on this design. I got away with making this top with a scrap of fabric 25 wide by 18 long.
The pattern is easy and straight forward . If you are new to sewing knits it still is easy. I used a size 9 needle, a stretch stitch on my sewing machine and away I went at creating this design. To ensure I used every last bit of scrap I took the pieces from the neck and armholes, folded it in half then in half again and cut in a love sign. Knit wont fray so it does not need to be hemmed or anything. I sewed three beads from an old necklace in the centre and there you have it -  a decorative flower.

My model is age 5  with chest 22" . I made the size 2T chest and 4T length. Unfortunately my knit does not have a lot a stretch so her time in this tank is going to be short lived.

Rainbow Dress Pattern - Felicity Joy by Pollywoggles Patterns

I am not very good at writing a whole lot especially on patterns I have tested. Instead I  prefer to just sew them.

 But I must give credit where it is due,  and well,  Heidi from Pollywoggles Patterns is really great at what she does. 

This dress speaks for itself : simple, girly, twirly  

Every little girl loves to twirl and this dress will not disappoint. 

It is also very easy to put together, and who does not love shirring. If you have never done it before, dont be put off by that. The pattern is well written with great hints and tips to shir your way into a beautiful dress.

PATTERN REVIEW: BUTTON UP JUMPER BY ONCE UPON A SEWING MACHINE

I had the great opportunity to test the BUTTON UP JUMPER   by Once Upon a Sewing Machine and I must tell you it was a fun sew.

The jumper is quite unique. The three little buttons in front are not just decorative, but they also can be loosed so that the child can step into the jumper.
The sizing goes from 12months to 8 years.

 Two more buttons at the back are stationery and add a decorative touch.

The pockets are cute and great for storing small treasures.

PATTERN REVIEW: THE RAIN DROP TEE

I am very happy to have been a part of the testing team for the Raindrop Tee. It is a fun and quite easy sew. The pattern is straight forward, easy to understand and comes in both long and short sleeves.
I chose to use two colours because I did not have one piece big enough to make the shirt. Unfortunately the purple looks like navy in the picture, but I loved how it turned out.

PATTERN REVIEW : LOLLIPOP SWIRL SKIRT BY MY TREASURED HEIRLOOMS

I had the pleasure of testing the Lollipop Swirl Skirt  by My Treasured Heirlooms. This was actually my very first pattern tester call and I loved it!
The skirt is very easy to sew and has three different types of waist closures, making it very versatile and easy for both the beginner and the advanced sewist. I am an intermediate sewist and completed it in two hours - between 10 - 12p:m so you know I was really half asleep , right?
What I love about it is that it is a great stash buster ! You can use coordinating  scraps for each swirl and still end up with a great skirt.

You  should really give it a try!
